If your laptop is out of battery, or you just didn't have room for it in your bag, borrow one of ours.

We have laptops for loan in the Morrell Lounge, the Fairhurst building, King's Manor Library, and Library@Piazza. They're fully charged and already set up for wifi and printing, with access to Microsoft Office and your personal filestore.

You can use the laptop anywhere within the Library that you borrow it from for up to four hours.

There's no option to book the standard loan laptops, which are for students only, they're available on a first come, first served basis.

You'll find our loan laptops:

  • in self-service cabinets in the Morrell Lounge and the ground floor of the Fairhurst building in the University Library, self-service, 24 hours a day (80 available)
  • in self-service cabinets in the Library@Piazza on the 2nd floor of the Piazza Building, self-service, from 7.30am to 10pm (24 available)
  • in the King's Manor Library - ask at the Help Desk during Library opening hours (10 available)

Long-term loans for PG researchers

We also have 20 laptops available for longer term loan (up to one month) for PG researchers. Find out more on our website, or ask at the Library and IT Help Desk in the Morrell Library.
