Helping you through your exams

Posted on 8 April 2019

The Library's a great place to study, but it can be very busy in the run up to exams. Sharing the space with respect for other students, making use of pop up study spaces elsewhere on campus, and knowing how to get help and advice wherever you're working will make everything run more smoothly at what can be a tricky time.

Sharing space

Library space is shared space; when we're busy we ask you to remember to respect those around you and to share desks fairly. It's ok to take a short break to stretch your legs or get a drink, but when you leave the Library, remember to take your belongings with you. If we're alerted to abandoned books, coats or other property, we'll remove them after one hour:

Problems? Text us!

If you're being disturbed in the Library or you want to report belongings being used to 'reserve' desks, text us on 07979 293133 telling us what the problem is and where you are. We will deal with it ASAP.

Check where the seats are

To help you plan your day and where you'll study, check how busy the Library is before you set off:

Book a room

Study rooms are available to book for individual or group work in the Library, with some rooms specifically set aside for students who are registered with Disability Services. Find an available room:

Behave yourself!

We've got dedicated zones across our buildings for those who wish to study silently, quietly or in a group. Whether you prefer a studious buzz or a silent zone, find the space that suits your working style:

Use the pop up study spaces

During the exam period, additional study spaces are made available elsewhere on campus. Find one that's convenient for you:

Find our IT rooms

There are over 800 PCs in IT rooms across campus. Find out where they are, and see which rooms have PCs available when you need them:

Alternatively, borrow one of our laptops in the University Library, King's Manor Library, and Library@Piazza:
