  • Fair Attribution Guidance published
  • The Research Culture Working Group has created guidance on the fair attribution of research outputs. The guidance is designed to encompass all those who participate in the production of research - including specialist, technical and research-enabling staff, postgraduate researchers, RAs and PDRAs, and co-production partners, as well as academics - to help identify when it is appropriate to recognise the contribution of an individual to a research output.
The guidance adopts and endorses the CRediT model for attributing the specific contribution of individuals, and examples are provided for each of the 14 CRediT contributor roles. The guidance is intended to augment the existing policy framework supporting authorship and research integrity. Staff are encouraged to read the guidance and incorporate consideration and discussion of fair attribution within research project teams and research groups.
