York Cricket League

Running since 1983, the University of York Cricket League (aka The Tinpot League), is designed as a friendly and inclusive set of T20 cricket matches played on weekday evenings from mid May to mid August on the University pitches at 22 Acres. We currently have six teams competing who are always looking for new players, from both the University and externally.

Our ethos is very inclusive and the league offers a great opportunity to enjoy a social game of cricket in a beautiful setting, making new friends and connections along the way. First and foremost our objective is to have fun. Cricketing experience is not essential at all (nor the wearing of white clothing), just the desire to enjoy a social game of cricket in the sunshine.

You can read more about the league on our website.

We also have a Facebook page where you can see a gallery of pictures of summer 2021.

If you would like to join a team or find out more about it please complete our initial Google form and we will be in touch to discuss how what we have set up meets your needs and how we can get you involved. We look forward to hearing from you!
