Researcher Development Concordat Consultation

In March 2020 the University of York became a signatory of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers. As part of our commitment to address systemic challenges and work towards a fair, welcoming and inclusive research culture - we are conducting a series of consultation events to develop and implement an ambitious and robust action plan that reflects the voice and lived experience of our researchers.

Our consultations are part of a planned approach involving colleagues across all career stages, in particular our researchers who have responded to the following key questions through a series of online, interactive consultation events facilitated by our Research Staff Liaison Officers.
  1. What would a positive research culture at York look and feel like?
  2. What could we do differently around employment at York?
  3. What would make a difference to your working life with regards to professional and career development?
  4. Finally, what type of activities could constitute "10 days of training"?

In addition we have received input and responses to these questions from Department Research Chairs (DRCs) and members of the Concordat Implementation Group (CIG). These will be calibrated to reflect the University of York's vision, EDI values and strategic themes.
