Many of our external funders are providing new COVID-19 specific research funding opportunities, to help in the effort to combat the crisis., or the chance to re-purpose existing projects
We are of course highly supportive of York staff with relevant expertise using this to provide appropriate help in the current pandemic. For the health and safety of our University community, it is also important that we know as soon as possible about plans in development and their implications for the institution if taken forward - access to laboratories or buildings for example, or use of other University resources. To ensure that we can support your applications as efficiently as possible, an additional light-touch authorisation step for these applications is required.
NOTE: This is an additional step and all normal application processes and authorisations should also be followed. Please also seek assistance with your costings and application process through your usual channels (eg Departmental Research Facilitator).
If you are applying for any the funds listed below, or any other COVID-19 specific funding, please complete the relevant Google form as soon as possible and BEFORE you submit your application. Please note that it is expected that your department would be aware of any such intention to submit at this stage, as their support will be required, especially with regards to building access.
If your proposed research project, or re-purposed funding, will require you to access campus facilities, please complete the Exceptional Access Request Form.
If your project will not require access to campus facilities, please complete the COVID-19 Research Funding Applications - No Access Required form.
Prior to final submission authorisation, the relevant member of Research Grants Operations will check that this information has been gathered. Submission will not occur until this has been completed.
