The University is committed to providing a healthy work environment and improving the quality of working life for all staff. We have made progress in this area over the past five years, for example becoming the first university to introduce mental health first aid for staff. There is plenty still to do however, and our new three year plan, which is actively led by University Executive Board members, will underpin this activity.

To support the launch of the new Health and Wellbeing plan we will be holding a Health and Wellbeing event on the 11 February 2019 to showcase some of the good practice and initiatives taking place across the University. The Acting V-C Saul Tendler will open the event and we have asked those departments nominated for a Professional@York award in the Health and Wellbeing category to share their experience and offer advice and practical tools to those people who have an interest in the Health and Wellbeing agenda within the University. Colleagues from the Information Directorate, Chemistry, Health Sciences, Research and Enterprise Directorate, as well as others, will share their experiences.

York Sport are kindly offering a free VIP day pass for the Sport Village or Centre to all those colleagues attending the event.
