Ever wondered about the breadth and depth of research going on at the University?

YorkTalks | Wednesday 9 January 2019 | Financial crashes, lad culture, art after the internet, and more

YorkTalks is the annual showcase of the University's research. It's free of charge and open to all. In bite-size 15 minute slots over four sessions, sixteen speakers explain and engage you about their research. Come for one session or come for the day.

YorkTalks 2019
Wednesday 9 January 2019 (Week 1)
Ron Cooke Hub
9am - 5.15pm

Our speakers are invited from departments across all three Faculties. Subjects reflect the diversity and strength of York research and include:

  • lad culture
  • art after the internet
  • the hidden reality of sexual harassment and violence
  • fighting tropical diseases
  • the artificial intelligence DJ
  • the risks of banks, ten years after the crash
  • the power of nature for mental health

Each session gives time for the audience to ask questions. Refreshments will be available before and between sessions and a drinks reception will conclude the day at the end of session 4.
