Biography

I have worked as a practitioner, educator and manager in statutory and not-for-profit organisations for almost 25 years (post-qualifying with an MA in social work at York).  I have been keen on my own and the development of colleagues throughout my career.  To this end I have kept up-to-date with my own learning and development, through reading, further training, and linking this to my practice.

I have a Diploma in Management, a PGCE (post compulsory), a degree in Psychosocial interventions, as well as post-graduate qualifications as an Approved Mental Health Professional and Best Interest Assessor (Mental Capacity Act 2005, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards), and the Practice Educator award (PEPS).

I have developed a keen interest and specialism in self-harm and personality disorder.
