Marathon 1

Ed completed the York Marathon this October in four hours and forty five minutes and writes:

'I can honestly say this was one of the hardest things I have ever done! Although I was glad to be able to raise money for the York Carers Centre, which undertakes such sterling work with carers of all ages in the city'

Ed continues:

"Thanks to everyone who made a donation! I am really pleased that the links between the university Social Work team and the Carers Centre are getting stronger: this summer we interviewed adult carers on film, creating a video resource for the students; in addition, members of the Carers Centre have joined the department's SUPA Group.

Marathon 2

As a social worker, it's really important to me that our students have a proper understanding of the role carers play in the lives of vulnerable people, and that they take this understanding with them as they graduate and move into professional practice."
