Addressing older men’s experiences of loneliness and social isolation in later life

  • Dr Paul Willis: University of Bristol will present Older Men At The Margins. Findings from a 2.5- year study funded by the NIHR School for Social Care Research that develops understanding of the ways in which older men (65+ years) from different social backgrounds and circumstances stay socially connected with others, and combat loneliness and social isolation in later life.

  • Andy Ryland: Development Officer Community First Yorkshire; Mens Sheds- Men creating communities for themselves.
  • Bev Frain: Project Manager Community First Yorkshire; The Loneliness Campaign- a multi-agency approach to tackling loneliness and isolation across North Yorkshire.

Admission: For subscribing organisations this is an adult services event. For others there is a fee of £95. A number of reduced price £25 places are available for service users, as well as for volunteers from voluntary groups, community groups and charities; please ask for details.
