Improving outcomes for looked after children using evidence based practice and commissioning

Friday 13 July 2018, 9.30AM to 3.15pm

Speaker(s): Dr Mark Kerr, Dr Miriam Silver, others to be confirmed

This seminar will share the findings from an on-going action research project that is investigating the relationship between needs, price and outcomes for looked after children. The research carried out by the Centre for Outcomes of Care provides important messages for commissioners, practitioners and providers of services for looked after children.

Significant systemic weaknesses have been identified in the assessment of needs, a critical factor in matching and outcome monitoring. Current there is a systemic failure to provide reliable data to assess distance travelled or value. Speakers, who view the problem through different - but complimentary lenses - will facilitate the seminar outlining how services can respond to the challenges.

Whether a practitioner, commissioner or provider, the learning from this research has important messages and learning for your organisation.
