Our Human Challenge in Times of Change: Working with Differences

Led by Susan Gantt

Functional subgrouping enables groups and teams to integrate differences rather than fight about them or scapegoat them. Neuroscience helps us understand how a subgrouping communication pattern lowers our brain/body reactivity, making it easier to communicate. This two-day experiential workshop is for those new to Systems-Centered Training to learn the basics of SCT as well as those wanting more experience using SCT methods.

Participants will practise & explore:

  • Functional subgrouping to explore & integrate differences as resources, instead of attacking or scapegoating them

  • The human challenges in relating to leaders & supporting leadership

  • Staying curious & learning to work in current reality

  • Seeing the wider system, instead of taking things just personally

  • Recognising that group dynamics in each of the phases of system development influence the work that can be done

The workshop is different every time so if you’ve been before, come again ready for new learnings & new experiences. Container training is available for experienced SCT members after discussion with  your  trainer.

Using SAVI to Guide Communication in Times of Turbulence and Change

Led by Fran Carter and Rowena Davis

SAVI (The System for Analyzing Verbal Interaction) is a theory-based, practical tool that makes intuitive sense. The SAVI Grid helps us understand the impact of different communication patterns on Satisfaction, Productivity, Problem-Solving and Decision-Making in any context.

In this two-day workshop we will explore:

  • Which patterns are common in times of turbulence and change
  • How the communication climate we co-create affects satisfaction and productivity

  • How we communicate emotions impacts the climate and our ability to solve problems

  • Which verbal patterns support problem-solving and decision-making

This workshop is open to newcomers as well as those familiar and working with SAVI.

Workshops 14 - 15 June 2017

Choose from:

Making Our Work Roles Work (For Us and Our Organisations)

Led by Susan Gantt

Exploring how to bring our energy and heart into our work roles to support the goal of our contexts leads to greater productivity and satisfaction. Learning to identify when our own role behaviours are driving or restraining to our work contexts helps us shift from a personal focus to a systems focus. This experiential workshop is for those new to SCT as well as those with previous training wanting to apply their skills & explore their challenges in work roles.

Participants will practise:

  • Clarifying the difference between work roles & goals and personal roles & goals

  • Mindfully stepping into different roles & adapting our behaviours to the many different contexts we encounter in organisations

  • Developing skills to survive & thrive in the dynamics of organisational life in changing times

  • Thinking systems, not just people, in order to take things less personally & contribute more effectively to personal & organizational goals

The content & experience of this workshop changes every time so come again for new learnings in a new context.

Using SAVI to Understand and Work with the Challenges in Communication: Integrating Differences

Led by Fran Carter and Rowena Davis

In times of turbulence and change communication becomes more challenging, adding to the frustration and stress and reducing our ability to use the resources in different viewpoints. SAVI offers a map for seeing the communication patterns that increase our ability to work with similarities and differences and to address the complex issues we face.

In this two-day workshop we will:

  • Identify communication patterns in response to stress that disrupt communication

  • See how we can more easily use the information in differences

  • Explore alternatives to attacking, blaming, dismissing, yes-butting or withdrawing as responses to differences

  • Use live examples from participants

This workshop is open to newcomers as well as those familiar and working with SAVI.
