Annie graduated from the University of York with a first degree in Linguistics and Educational Studies in 2001. After research posts in the University of York Department of Language and Linguistic Science, and at the National Foundation for Educational Research, she joined SPRU in 2005 and has since worked on a number of projects in the area of health, employment and disability. Annie has a particular interest in mental health as it relates to job retention and return to work. In 2015 she was awarded a PhD by Publication, drawing on her research on the complexities of managing common mental health problems in the workplace.
