Biography

  • 2018-present: University of York: PhD in Sociology
  • 2016-2017: University of Edinburgh: Masters in Sociology
  • 2009-2013: Peking University: Bachelors in Sociology

During my bachelors and masters study, I gained some basic knowledge of sociology. And during my gap years, I also worked in non-profit organizations and joined a public service programme as social worker.

Research

Overview

Current research is mother-daughter relationship of married women in China.

This research is intend to find out: What are the changes between mother-daughter relationship through daughters’ transition to motherhood; What are Chinese young mothers’ understanding of good parenting; What are Chinese young mothers’ understanding of relationship between themselves and the family.

And through these questions, I will discuss young Chinese mother's role transition from daughter to mother, and during this transition, how do they deal with the role of being both a mother and a daughter and how do they practice motherhood and daughterhood in relation to their own mothers.
