Conversation Analysis: An Introduction

Wednesday 20 January 2016, 10.00AM to 16:30

Speaker(s): Tutors to include: Sue Wilkinson and Merran Toerien (Pre-requisites: None)

The Department of Sociology at the University of York is delighted to announce the launch of a new series of short courses in conversation analysis (CA), to be held in York. Four courses will be offered in 2016.

This course is designed as a ‘taster’ for those who would like to find out more about conversation analysis (CA) and the kinds of issues it can be used to address.  It will introduce the methods and some of the key findings of CA in an non-specialist way.  It is intended for those with little or no previous experience of CA, including those who may be considering using CA in their own work, and those who are ‘just curious’.

For further information, and/or to register for one or more of the courses, please contact Sarah Shrive-Morrison: sarah.shrive-morrison@york.ac.uk
