ESRC IAA: Marketing Your Research - Introduction to MailChimp

Want to market your research to new audiences to increase your impact?

E-newsletters can be a great way to share updates on your projects with a wide audience. They can help you increase impact from your research by showcasing your results, increasing networking opportunities, or even finding collaborators.

This two-hour workshop is delivered by specialist communications agency Campus PR. It will enable you to get started creating your own e-newsletter using Mailchimp, a free, online e-newsletter platform.

We’ll cover the basics of setting up a mailing list; creating and using an e-news template; sending your news; and reviewing delivery reports. By the end of the session you’ll have set up your own newsletter template and be ready to start spreading the word about your research.

This course is funded through the University of York ESRC Impact Acceleration Account. Lunch will be provided.

The course is aimed at and open to University of York research and academic staff. It will be of particular interest to academic and research staff in the Faculty of Social Sciences who are in the process of developing research proposals with and expectation that these should generate maximum impact.
