A day in the life of a Corporate strategy analyst in the United Kingdom

Working to help build a better business

How I looked for work

Graduate recruitment sites like Milkround, starting pretty much as I came back to university in my final year

How I found out about the job

Other graduate recruitment website

The recruitment process

Standard recruitment process I believe - online application/screening, numerical and logic tests, phone interview and thereafter a one day assessment centres. Plenty of interest on e.g. wikijobs

What I do

I help the business answer questions around how to build a better business. This involves everything from analysing our competitors, business unit efficiency and development opportunities through to corporate finance and portfolio analysis

Skills I use and how I developed them

Structured thinking and problem solving. Numerical skills and basic financial understanding. Ability to communicate clearly and explain complex concepts to an audience of non-experts. Ability to work effectively in different teams and take on a variety of different roles.
