What I do
Lead a group of chemists at a contract testing organisation. We specilaise in testing materials for the pharmaceutical as well as the consumer markets (e.g. food contact).
Skills I use and how I developed them
I use a whole raft of skills, much more now away from the lab bench than in front of it. I see technical aspects around equipment, I deal with finance, quality and HR. I work with accounts to make sure my group is profitable.
What I like most
Interacting with staff and seeing them develop.
