A day in the life of a Analyst in China

York native, working at a management consultancy firm in Shanghai, focusing on global asset managers

My career history

After graduation, i spent two years in London as a hedge fund trader. I left to move to Shanghai to work at another hedge fund, took a position is a head equity analyst, and then joined my current company.

Courses taken since graduation

CFA

How my studies have helped my career

The majority of my classmates were Chinese. It made me realise how important China is to the global economy. So I taught myself the language, spent a few years as a hedge fund trader in London, and took the first opportunity to move to Shanghai.

My advice to students considering work

The world is bigger than York, and you'd surprised how far a degree from York can take you.

My advice about working in my industry

Spend your free time building your career. The world is a competitive place.

What I do
