A day in the life of a Senior Customer Success Manager in Canada

Staying on top of Technology trends, market updates will be key to success not just at university but beyond.

Briefly describe the organisation you work for

Informatica is a leader in enterprise cloud data management, founded in 1993.The company makes software which helps in Integration, Data governance.

What do you do?

As a senior customer success manager, I am responsible for the adaption of the software purchased by the customer.

Reflecting upon your past employment and education, what led you to your current career choice?

Having studied the business side of the technology world, I joined the corporate firms as a Sales professional in the Software space. I developed the business acumen needed to handle large enterprise customers across Europe, Middle East and North America. This gave me an enormous amount of experience dealing with International business, Marketing and Managing technology and a deep dive into the software world.

Is your current job sector different from what you thought you would enter when you graduated?

I had a passion for technology and customers and my current job is not very different from my masters in Engineering management.

Describe your most memorable day at work

I am fascinated on how technology can transform businesses. As part of my career, I am very proud of a deal closure in the middle east. The day had a lot of excitement along with adrenaline rush to work as part of a global team, handling multiple levels of the business and also handing very complex sale transactions. Along with my team, we were able to close a significant deal impacting the national payment gateway along with Accenture.

What extracurricular activities did you undertake at university and what transferable skills did you develop through these?

I took up an internship for a Marketing consulting firm based our of Yorkshire. The internship was based out of London working on their Railway bidding projects across south west of England. This internship gave me a huge opportunity to work in the UK , immerse in the work culture, travel across the south west of England.

What top tips do you have for York students preparing for today’s job market and life after graduation?

Staying on top of Technology trends, market updates will be key to success not just at university but beyond. I would also recommend to take up team sports as there are skills which are learnt beyond the classroom.

What topics from students are you happy to answer questions on?

I am happy to talk about the world of Information technology, working in global markets and working at an international context.

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?

I am happy to mentor anyone who is looking for a Global career , especially if you are an international student.
