A day in the life of a Classroom Teacher (Religious Education/Humanities) in the United Kingdom

How I found out about the job

Employer's website

Courses taken since graduation

PGCE, MA (Ed)

Where I hope to be in 5 years

Progression to management in schools/colleges.

My advice to students considering work

Start early - volunteer at places to get experience. It will pay off at your interviews.

What I do

Teaching 11-18 secondary school children. Planning and delivering lessons, managing behaviour assessing their progress etc. Also running clubs after school.

What I like most

Every day is different.

What I like least

Heavy workload at certain periods.

What would I change? I would have got more voluntary experience whilst studying for my degree to get experience of a wider range of careers.
