A day in the life of a Forensic Advisory in the United Kingdom

How I looked for work

Directly through the employers website

How I found out about the job

Employer's website

How my visa affected the recruitment process

My employer sponsors my visa (Tier 2 General). As KPMG is a large firm, they apply for the visa on behalf of the employee. That meant that the process was relatively simple for me, I just had to provide my documents and they took care of everything else. Overall, it took about 5 weeks.

Courses taken since graduation

Doing the ACA qualification

How my studies have helped my career

My degree gave me 5 exemptions from the ACA qualification exams!

My advice to international students looking for work in the UK

Make sure your employer can sponsor you! Also, make use of any language skills you have and bring them up at interviews etc.

My advice to students considering work

Research your choices well

What I do

Graduate trainee with KPMG in the forensic financial advisory department within Risk Consulting. Also doing the ACA

Skills I use and how I developed them

Communication, organisation, time management, investigation, research, report writing.
