New publication from SEI York highlights the need to include rights into resilience based practice.

In East Timor, the low status of women and patriarchal norms are a particular barrier to the representation of women’s interests by women within local councils. SourceGiantPandinha / Flickr‌A new publication by Jon Ensor and John Forrester in the Journal Disaster highlights the need to include rights into resilience research and practice in order to reveal complexities of climate risks and social conflict. It adopts a rights-based approach to understand how cultural, political and social norms and practices influence resilience using Timor-Leste as a case study.
