How our engagement with the public can lead to greater scientific understanding

We are pleased to launch a collaborative blog written by staff interested in participatory research at the Stockholm Environment Institute, York.

What do we mean by participatory research? Well, it’s a broad term which encompasses projects which engage the public, whether that’s ‘crowdsourcing’ or extracting information from them, working with people to define research questions and conduct the research, or just communicating results of research. We use a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods in our research, some are well-established but others are more novel. These methods, tools, projects and other musings will be presented on the blog and we welcome people to "participate" and contribute their own comments.

Regular blogs will be authored by SEI York staff, and if you’d like to guest blog for us, then please get in touch with us via the Contact Form on the blog.
