Dr Katie Slocombe, an expert on primate communication, explains some of the fundamental techniques that students can use to study animal calls in a new YouTube video sponsored by the Wellcome Trust. By comparing the way that our closest relatives communicate with our own speech and language Katie aims to understand how these aspects of behaviour have evolved.
