Current projects

StreetLife York - the Jewish Neighbourhood story

2022 - Ongoing

The StreetLife project uncovered a largely untold story of the Jewish community's significance to York's growth, particularly in the 1200s. We are exploring how best to tell this story with current communities and bring this important aspect of York's history to wider attention.

StreetLife York

2021 - Ongoing

The StreetLife project was awarded just under £500,000 to bring heritage and creativity-driven renewal to Coney St - one of York’s most important historic High Streets. Bringing together partners from across the city, the project reframed an ancient but declining street as an experiential destination for both locals and visitors by delivering over 160 free events and exhibitions.

The Explore Project

2020 - Ongoing

CSCC partnered with the Church of England and other denominations to launch an innovative series of resources to help visitors enjoy the beauty, peace and wellbeing offered by England's historic churches.
