Every member of the team, including new and existing members, will play a vital part in the Access and Outreach strategy and will have an integral part to play in the University's strategic vision. We will work together, with colleagues from across the institution, to meet the aims, objectives and targets set out in our strategy and Access and Participation plan.

The Access and Outreach Team offers a range of programmes that support people from under-represented groups and promotes progression to higher education for an ever more diverse student body. Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Outreach (MRAO) forms part of the University's Directorate of External Relations. MRAO has responsibility for the following:
MRAO works closely with other sections of the Directorate: in particular International Student Recruitment, and Communications, but also the Office of Philanthropic Partnerships and Alumni and the Centre for Lifelong Learning. In addition, we maintain key relationships with academic and support departments across the University.

Centred around the picturesque village of Heslington on the edge of the city of York, our colleges are set in an attractive landscaped campus. The post holder will focus on the management of existing widening participation programmes and the development of new initiatives. You will have specific responsibility for leading and delivering large programmes of activity that form a core part of our access and outreach work. This role will involve significant project management and oversight of programmes, activities and teams.
You will facilitate partnership working with schools, colleges, students, alumni and community groups to deliver impactful events. Alongside the management of programmes of activity, you will also deliver presentations, lead activities and events and manage residential programmes.
The post holder will focus on the management and delivery of new activities to support the recruitment of learners from underrepresented backgrounds. You will have specific responsibility for proactively developing new relationships with specific schools and colleges and will lead the development of a new programme of visits. This role forms a core part of our access and outreach work and will involve significant project management and oversight of programmes and activities.
You will facilitate partnership working with schools, colleges, students, alumni and community groups to deliver impactful events. You will take particular responsibility for our work with teachers and advisors from target WP schools nationally. Alongside the management of programmes of activity, you will also deliver presentations and activities, lead activities and events and deliver residential programmes.
This new role requires a highly innovative, creative and forward thinking Marketing Campaigns Officer, with experience in digital delivery and reaching new, diverse audiences who will support the effective delivery of the University of York’s Access and Outreach strategy.
Alongside providing input and steer into the strategic development of Access and Outreach marketing and communications projects, you will be responsible for creating and delivering marketing plans and campaigns that reach students from under-represented backgrounds with a view to widening participation and increasing diversity at the University of York.
In these four new roles, post holders will focus on the delivery of existing widening participation programmes and will support the development and delivery of new and exciting initiatives. You will also take responsibility for several projects that add-value to our broader suite of access and outreach work.
You will work in partnership with schools, colleges, students, alumni and community groups to deliver impactful events. A large portion of your role will involve delivering presentations, leading activities and events and supporting residential programmes.
This new post will support the delivery of existing widening participation programmes and will support the development and delivery of new and exciting initiatives. You will also take responsibility for several projects that add value to our broader suite of access and outreach work.
Your particular focus will be on project coordination including the initiation of new pilot projects including market analysis, audience testing and proposal development. You will be key to the delivery of our evaluation strategy, ensuring good data collection methods. You will also work closely with senior leaders to facilitate rapid improvement to the systems and processes that underpin our work.

But York isn't just a great place to visit - it's also a great place to live and work. While nourishing a vibrant cosmopolitan atmosphere, York still maintains the friendly sense of community unique to a small city.
York boasts specialist and unique boutiques but also all the high street stores on its busy shopping streets. Alongside them you will find cinemas, theatres, an opera house, art galleries, a vast range of restaurants, live music venues and clubs. York is particularly renowned for its multitude of pubs and bars, from the modern to the medieval.
The Lonely Planet guide recently declared Yorkshire the third best region in the world to visit. There is something to cater to every taste, whether it be the rugged landscapes of the Moors or the Dales, the picturesque seaside towns of Scarborough and Robin Hoods Bay, the gothic architecture of Whitby or the vibrancy of cosmopolitan Leeds.
