Title of Research:

'Rural poverty and development in Mexico'.

Brief overview of research topic:

Based on the alarming levels of poverty in rural Mexico over the past two decades, I analyze the effectiveness of the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programs implemented in Mexico during the Neoliberal period. More precisely, I examine the extent to which the level of fit between CCTs design and the nature of rural societies has impacted the reduction of poverty in rural Mexico.
