IGDC Career Development Networking Event

Wednesday 10 October 2018, 10.00AM to 12:00pm

We would like to invite you to be part of an interdisciplinary networking event.

As an ongoing development of the Interdisciplinary Global Development Centre (IGDC), we are establishing a Career Development Network (CDN). The CDN is a group of researchers from the University of York with interests in development related issues that seeks to support each other in matters related to research, training and professional development.

There are no specific disciplinary contexts and we encourage participation of researchers from all Departments across the Sciences, Social Sciences and Art and Humanities.

The objective of this event is to get together in an informal and relaxed setting to share our research interests, to talk about our skills, to identify how we can help others, to moan about academia and to initially identify potential opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations and grant applications. The idea is to have researchers from different stages in their career, so please do not feel you are too new or too experienced for this event. In the CDN we believe everyone can contribute and benefit from each other.

You do not need to prepare anything in advance. All you need to do is show up and be ready to meet and talk to people. Refreshments will be provided.

If you are interested in attending, please register here so we get enough food in and ensure no one goes hungry!

Location: Heslington Hall, Dawson room H/G17

Admission: Booking required. Open to Late stage PhDs, Post-Docs and staff.
