Isaac Physics: Year 12 Programme

In year 12?  Styudying Physics and Maths?  Join us for an exciting programme to support your studies:

  • Find out what it's like to study Physics at University
  • Work with current undergraduate students
  • Try regular questions to help with your A-level studies
  • Conduct experimental work in our teaching laboratories
  • Visit research laboratories and find out about cutting-edge Physics

This one-year programme includes a mixture of online problem solving, afternoon workshops, full-day taster visits to the University of York and a one-night residential to try out student life. 

It’s completely free and travel bursaries are available.  

Please note that places are limited.  Although we would encourage all year 12 students studying Physics and Maths to apply, preference will be given to students who meet any of the following criteria:

  • Receives Bursary Fund payments from the Education Funding Agency
  • Receives/is entitled to free school meals
  • Lives or has previously lived in Local Authority Care
  • Lives in a low participation area? (verified using the university's postcode checker
  • Parent(s)/carer(s) did not attend University
  • Is a recognised young carer
  • Is from a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) background.
  • Has a disability or long term health condition.

In applying for this programme, you commit to attending all of the workshops (as detailed above) and completing fortnightly questions, set through the Isaac Physics website (taking a maximum of 1 hour per fortnight).
