University of York academic honoured at the 8th Asian Awards

The Asian Awards celebrate the highest achievement from across the international Asian community.

Congratulations to Professor Dame Pratibha Gai who has been honoured with the 'Outstanding Achievement in Science' award at the 8th Asian Awards.

Professor Gai is the founding co-director of York’s JEOL Nanocentre and Professor of Electron Microscopy in York’s Departments of Chemistry and Physics.

The Asian Awards celebrate the highest achievement from across the international Asian community. Open to individuals born in or with direct family origin from all of Asia. The Asian Awards reward outstanding achievement across all disciplines of life including business, sport, science, the arts and public service.

Prof Gai, who was awarded with a Damehood in the 2018 New Years honours list, was presented with her award at a ceremony in London on 27 April 2018. You can watch a video of her acceptance speech here.
