Vice-Chancellor's Teaching Awards 2018

Posted on 15 May 2018

Congratulations to Thomas Shutt who has been awarded a Vice-Chancellor's Teaching Award.

Thomas Shutt

One of the ways in which the University rewards excellence in learning and teaching is through the Vice-Chancellor's Teaching Awards, introduced in 2006.  Nominations, in which students play a part, are invited from departments in the Spring Term of each academic year.

The panel said, 'Thomas is a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic teacher, instilling a love of learning in his students. The panel noted the impact he has had in the Department in a relatively short period of time, with his outstanding contribution to the new Planetary Science module, and as a support worker and undergraduate student representative'.

The award will be formally conferred by the Chancellor or Vice-Chancellor at one of the summer's degree ceremonies.‌‌
