Posted on 11 March 2020

The Department of Physics is proud to be hosting the Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics UK (CUWiP) between 12th and 15th March 2020.

The conference brings together over 100 physics undergraduates from around the UK and Ireland who identify as women. The goal of the conference is to encourage undergraduates to continue in physics by focusing on their development as a scientist and showcasing options for their educational and professional futures. The attendees will hear from keynote speakers including Dame Prof Jocelyn Bell Burnell and Prof Petra Rudolf. They will also hear from academic and industry panels and attend informative and engaging workshops.

We would like to thank the venues who will be hosting the delegates on excursions; Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Sheffield, Hartlepool Power Station, Daresbury Laboratory and the York Plasma Institute.

This event could not take place without our valued sponsors; EPSRC, Institute of Physics, Ogden Trust, Quantum Communications Hub, The Royal Society, STFC and the University of York.
