On Saturday 9th June a group of volunteers, led by Dr Chris Murphy, made their way to the Knavesmire to celebrate York Pride 2018. Throughout the day people of all ages were invited into our gazebo to “see the world through a rainbow” using our diffraction glasses. Brandishing coloured pens we managed to give out over 200 pairs!
More arts and crafts fun was on offer, with colourful meteors being made and swirled, while we discussed the 4.5 billion year old meteorite with curious visitors. Overall a fantastic day was had by all, with colourful face paint and flags adorning people, clothing and gazebo. The sun even came out to celebrate the equality and inclusivity we cherish here in York.
A big thanks to all of our volunteers: David Jenkins, Chris Murphy, James Carr, Nick Lodge, Kate Lancaster, Mark Taylor, Yen Lei, James Rosen, Luca Antonelli, David Bland and Katherine Leech.
