Lifelong Learning lecture
The Mystery Plays epitomise both medieval piety and entertainment. Records indicate that the plays were performed on pageant wagons wheeled through the city streets, and that the guilds of the city bore the costs of the performance. This lecture will give an introduction to the history of the Plays and discuss their relevance to the City of York today.
