Lifelong Learning lecture
Due to unforeseen circumstances this lecture is CANCELLED. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.
This lecture explores how author Guy Mankowski created a proposal for a novel that was commissioned, and given an Arts Council research grant, so he could work in Russia.
This led to him being one of the first English people to gain access to The Vaganova Academy, perhaps the world’s most prestigious ballet school. It outlines the lessons he learned regarding how to gain access to the exclusive places necessary to research the novel, and how he converted this research into a successful book.
Other Lifelong Learning lectures include:
- 50 Shades of Clay: Interpreting sensuality and touch in twentieth and twenty-first century ceramic art
- York Mystery Plays
- Introduction to criminology: From a unique perspective
- Translating starlight: An introduction to astronomy
