This year's Biology Summer Term Open Lecture will be presented by Professor Irene Tracey who is Head of Department & Nuffield Chair in Anaesthetic Science, Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Oxford.  Professor Tracey and her team have been using advanced neuroimaging techniques to explore how the human brain responds to pain and pain relief.  As well as having an outstanding track record of research in her field, Professor Tracey has also presented aspects of research on pain on BBC Radio 4 and World Service programmes.  

We hope that you will be able to join us for what will be a stimulating and enlightening lecture on how the human brain responds to pain, pain relief and anaesthesia.
