Effective Altruism Society event

Hosted by Effective Altruism

Join us for a talk by Managing Director of The Humane League UK, Vicky Bond. Vicky will be talking about the need for effective animal advocacy in a world where over 50 billion land animals are slaughtered for food each year. She will talk about the role of The Humane League in fighting for a better world for animals and tell us about how we can most effectively do the same. The talk will be followed by a Q&A with Vicky.

The Humane League focus on improving animal welfare through corporate reform and grassroots campaigns. It is one of the top recommended charities by Animal Charity Evaluators, an organisation which does research into finding the most effective animal charities. They estimate that for each $1 donated to the Humane League roughly 6 to 13 animals are spared from life in industrial agriculture.
