YorkTalks 2016
Event details
Coffee from 8.45am, talks beginning at 9.10am. The event will close at 5.15pm, followed by a drinks reception.
YorkTalks, our inspirational research showcase, returns on Wednesday 6 January 2016.
Styled on the highly successful TED Talks lecture series, YorkTalks features short, accessible 15-minute presentations on some of our most innovative and thought-provoking research. The event shows the extraordinary breadth of work underway across the University. It also highlights remarkable results from collaborations between academics from different disciplines.
The audience for last year’s highly popular event was drawn from the York and wider regional academic community, as well as donors and alumni supporters of the University and the general public.
Each session is ticketed separately to encourage audiences to attend as much of the day as they can.
The day will begin with a formal welcome from the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Koen Lamberts. This will be followed by four sessions each comprising four speakers who will present their research and answer questions from the audience.
The day will also include a chance to celebrate the innovation and brilliance of our post-graduate community with a PhD Research Spotlight competition. The competition will be judged by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, the Dean of the Graduate Research School and the Research Champions.
