LGBT History Month

Graduate Students' Association event

A short talk by Annis Stead on her MA and PhD research in homophic bullying and 'lad culture'. She discusses the extent to which equalities work in schools and Universities might not only help those who identify as LGBT but also the young men whose social identity is often tainted with prescriptions of binge drinking and sexual violence. There will be suggestions for the ways in which Universities might better serve their diverse student populations by tackling 'lad culture' and other forms of problematic masculinity.

The talk will be followed by a wine reception provided by the Graduate Students' Association. A collection for local youth homelessness charity SASH will also be held at this event.
