This is the introductory lecture to the first undergraduate Computer Science module dedicated to Artificial Intelligence (AI). The speaker will trace the origins of AI before turning to its present state and discussing how its links to Arts, Sciences and Engineering are informing the future solutions to the societal challenges posed by it. There are no specific technical prerequisites for this talk.
