York Union event

The York Union will be hosting Robin Garland, founder of the charity Project Mala, is coming up to address the Union on the issue of child labour in India. The event will be a talk followed by a Q&A session led by the audience.

Project Mala runs six schools in the rural district of Uttar Pradesh, India; with the aim of giving children back a childhood who would or have spent the majority of it in work. Robin will be talking about his experiences in setting up and running a charity in India and all the tribulations that comes with it. Robin has been an actively defending children for over twenty-five years and has dedicated his life to stopping their exploitation.

York Union have a suggested £2 donation. As with all York Union events, there will be a wine reception to finish where audience members can speak to the guests one-on-one.
