Science Week lectures

Organised by AstroSoc

It seems like we are discovering planets around other stars almost every day. So why are they still such an enigma? Dr Brunsden will be looking at our current best methods of finding planets, their flaws and why some of the most promising planets we have found may not be so much like Earth as we had once hoped. After the lecture there will be tours of the University’s Astrocampus.

Other Science Week lectures include:

Sunday 16 November - Geometry: A secret weapon in the fight against viruses
Monday 17 November - An evening of Psychology
Tuesday 18 November - Our dynamic oceans
Wednesday 19 November - Biology Bites: The best Biology snippets
Friday 21 November - Meet the Chemistry department
Saturday 22 November - York Physics Society Colloquium

Dr Emily Brunsden, Physics
