Defending Human Rights Defenders

Please note that the title of this event has slightly changed since first advertised

Throughout the globe the space for human rights defenders (HRDs) and civil society is shrinking.  New repressive laws and toxic narratives are limiting the work and security of HRDs.  This week the Human Rights Defender Hub at the Centre for Applied Human Rights is hosting a two-day workshop to share cutting-edge research relating to promoting and protecting HRDs. This informal public event is an opportunity to discuss some of the urgent issues facing human rights activists today with a range of experts. We also hope to screen a new film showcasing the threats HRDs face in their work.
