Hilary Suckling (Piano) 

Pianist Hilary Suckling is an accomplished and versatile musician and teacher, with extensive performing and educational experience. A graduate from The Royal Academy of Music and University of Cambridge, she has given recitals as soloist and chamber musician throughout the UK and Europe, in venues including Wigmore Hall and St Martin-in-the-Fields. She specialises in chamber music and accompaniment, and has accompanied prizewinners in international competitions including BBC Young Musician, the Menuhin Competition, Jugendmusiziert Germany and Manchester International Concerto Competition. She has appeared in festivals including Lichfield International and Aberystwyth MusicFest and as concerto soloist as winner of Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra competition. Hilary's performances have been broadcast on BBC2, BBC4, Radio 3 and Classic FM. From 2009 to 2017 she was an accompanist at Chetham's School of Music, coaching talented young instrumentalists and singers and collaborating with them in all recitals, examinations, recordings and competitions. As a teacher, she has been on the faculty of Chetham's International Piano Summer School annually since 2010, and maintains a private teaching practice. Previously she was Head of Keyboard and Accompanist-in-Residence at Stowe School. She currently teaches piano at the University of York and coaches in the vocal department at Leeds College of Music. Future engagements include Beethoven's 4th Piano Concerto with the Mid-Somerset Orchestra.
