Alexander Ashworth

Alex Ashworth is a singer working across Europe in concert and opera. His repertoire stretches from Monteverdi to Berg with a healthy dose of Handel and Bach between. In the United Kingdom Alex has sung for Welsh National Opera, Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Scottish Opera. Abroad he has made his début with Ópera Comique de Paris, Icelandic Opera and Opera de Lille. On the concert platform he has appeared as a soloist for conductors including Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Trevor Pinnock, Sir Colin Davis, David Hill and Paul McCreesh.

Alex is also a committed teacher. He is a Professor of Singing at the Royal Academy of Music where he was recently elected ARAM. He previously taught at the Reykjavik Academy of Singing and Vocal Arts in Iceland, to where he still travels regularly to give private classes. He has also given masterclasses in Madrid for the Madrid Choral Society and presented at the British Voice Association's conference.
