Featuring everything from Bach to Beyoncé, this free online performance saw music, video and technology combine to create a scintillating spectacle that offered an extraordinary insight into the ingenuity and creativity of our community.
The programme included solo pieces by Bach, Haydn, Chopin, Fauré, Mendelssohn and Prokofiev; contemporary works by York-based composers James Redelinghuys, Ben Eyes, Neil Sorrell and Owen Russell; three short 'protests' songs sung by internationally-renowned mezzo-soprano Lore Lixenberg, with visualisations by audiovisual maker Lynette Quek; and music performed by student-run ensembles, including 'Crazy' by Gnarls Barkley, 'Lovely' by Billie Eilish and 'You've Got a Friend in Me' by Randy Neman.
