Scottish Awards for New Music 2020 shortlist features Martin Suckling

For the third time in four years, a new work by Department of Music Senior Lecturer Martin Suckling has been shortlisted for the Scottish Awards for New Music.

The Tuning, a song cycle to texts by Michael Donaghy, commissioned by the Oxford Lieder Festival and first performed by Marta Fontalas-Simmons and Christopher Glynn received a nomination in The Dorico Award for Small/Medium Scale New Work (1-10 performers) sponsored by Steinberg.

The shortlist was selected by a panel of key figures in the music world from over 300 nominations over 12 categories.

The winners will be announced at an event at V&A Dundee on Tuesday 14 April 2020.
