Alumni wins Wolf Durmashkin Composition Award 2018

York Music Alumni is awarded second place in the Wolf Durmashkin Composition Award 2018

A University of York Alumni, Rose Miranda Hall, has been awarded second price in the Wolf Durmashkin Composition Award 2018. Rose earned second place for her piece 'Mein Schatten', a setting of a poem written by a boy in Dachau. The three winners were announced on Tuesday 10 April at the City theatre Landsberg am Lech, Germany.

This award commemorates the composer, conductor and director, Wolf Durmashkin, who was executed in a Klooga concentration camp during World War II. This competition welcomes vocal and instrumental composer’s up to 35 years of age.
